Fashion History: A 1940s Photoshoot 2/3

by , 0 Comments, in Daily, Fashion History

Looking at these photos gets me so excited. I love vintage fashion & styling more than almost anything else & the chance to give it life is so fun for me. This summer on a somewhat stormy afternoon Jen, Sarah & I worked on this amazing photoshoot together. After picking the era (1940s) & outfit (this coral frock) we did hair & makeup at Jen’s place then jumped in my little Toyota Echo and chased the sun over miles of farmland. It was such an honor to work with these talented friends who love past eras as much as I do. Here are a few of the photos from the shoot <3

Dress

As explained in my previous post Fashion History: A 1940s Photoshoot 1/3 we pulled a few looks & all agreed that this 1940s peachy pink dress was our favorite for the day. The pretty war-time era frock matched the backdrop of Maple Ridge’s farm fields perfectly. We also got to shoot in Jen’s heritage home (those ones are my personal favs) & in her backyard.

Did I mention they turned me into a 1940s movie star?

Hair & Makeup

The amazing hair and makeup for this shoot was done by Jen Vanderzalm of Dames & Dolls Makeup.

The light in this photo blows me away.

Photography

Photos were taken by the jaw dropping Sarah England Photography, self proclaimed time traveller.

This photo makes me think I’m about to get whirled up into space through a time travelers portal… I wish it were true!

I hope you enjoyed escaping for a few minutes into another time. I’ll cherish these photos forever. If you would like to experience an era themed photoshoot please get in touch with us, we would love to work with you!
