Jay, Pepper, and I went to my hometown Oliver, BC for Canadian Thanksgiving this past weekend. We loved it. There were so many things to do in the countryside that we all came back to the city refreshed but exhausted.

Here are a few highlights from our weekend away.

We did spend the good part of the weekend eating, but as we still feel pretty full from turkey, sweets and stuffing I’ll just include a picture of my mom’s killer pumpkin pie (one of six pies she made just for the weekend – and there were only 5 of us there to eat them…). My favourite part of the weekend was taking Pepper on long walks through the country lanes. A close second was picking wild elderberries that had just ripened in the local hillsides (more on our wild berry picking to come). I hope you enjoy these moments from the countryside, I feel like my heart never left!
